Pro Services

 

The Pro Services section of Lumber is the most important part of the department. This is where most of the money comes in to help out the overall sales the store had throughout the day. A typical day at the Pro Service desk starts with a man named Freddy. He will make sure to call his contractors to make sure they are aware of their orders or just to say hey. Around 8 A.M every morning, the second Pro Service guy comes in. His name is Kevin. Kevin has the most experience with working with building materials.

I have learned that working in Pro Services means you have to be really good at math and problem solving. Watching Freddy and Kevin work and solve problems like they do baffles me a lot of the time. If an order is wrong, they will fix it. If a receipt needs to be faxed out, they have files with fax numbers on them to send them out.

Freddy and Kevin also have budgets. Their budget changes everyday depending on how well they sold materials the previous day. As a cashier, they both constantly tell me to put huge orders of lumber and other materials on their Salesmen Number. I have been trained to know when put in their number without their reminder at this point.

Without Pro Services, sales for the day at Lowes would be in grave danger.
